Loyalty and referrals
Spendable Loyalty rewards customers with points for shopping with you and pays the rewards out as store credit or gift cards. Because rewards are real Shopify balances, customers don't have to learn a new points currency at checkout: they simply have money to spend in your store.
How customers earn points
- Orders. Points for every order, based on what they spend. Points stay pending until the return window closes, and are taken back if an order is refunded or cancelled.
- Signing up. A welcome bonus, paid on their first order.
- Birthdays. A bonus on their birthday.
- Referrals. Each customer gets a referral link. Their friend gets a single-use discount on a first order, and the customer earns a reward once that order is past its return window.
VIP tiers
Tiers are based on what a customer spent over the last 12 months. Higher tiers earn points faster, and Spendable tags customers with their tier in Shopify, so you can use it in your marketing and in other apps.
Rewards
When a customer redeems points, Spendable pays the reward as:
- Store credit, added to their Shopify account and applied at checkout, or
- A gift card, which also works for customers who check out as guests.
The rewards launcher
A small rewards button on your storefront shows customers their points, their tier, their referral link and what they can redeem. It matches your theme and is available in English, French, German, Spanish, Italian and Dutch. Turn it on in your theme editor under App embeds.
Managing your programme
The Loyalty page in Spendable shows how the programme is doing, lets you set how points are earned and redeemed, and lists your members. You can open any member to see their history and add or remove points by hand.
Points that go unused for a long time expire, which you can configure. Moving from another loyalty app? See Switching to Spendable for how to bring points with you.
